It's mainly a bunch of soapy melodrama and a whole lotta muff, but Malabimba has enough taboo moments to slide by. Thanks to my non-existent knowledge of Italian, I'd confused "bimba" with "bambina" and assumed that the title of this movie translated to "Bad Baby". With her father at a loss for what to do, he invites a beautiful nun into the castle to try and get her under control. Seemingly as a result of séance that goes wrong(or was this an attempt at exorcism)Daniela is possessed by the evil spirit of Countness Lucrezia and becomes sex crazed and her mother Nais,also becomes sex crazed as Daniela watches.

Italian film historian Roberto Curti noted the film's emphasis on eroticism, stating that by 1979, gothic films were infused with erotic themes that generally took over the narrative. Some of the horror scenes-such as the séance at the beginning-are wonderfully over the top and stupid.

This DVD is a DVD collector's item because the viewers will never have a chance to watch similar movies in the new release DVDs. In a retrospective review, Jason Buchanan ( AllMovie) described the film as "a Euro-sleaze classic of the highest caliber" [6] Danny Shipka, author of book on European exploitation films described the film as both fun and shocking, noting that the film mixes both softcore and hardcore inserts. If you can`t tell which edition it is by the very small amount of Korean text beneath the English text then you can differentiate it by The Korean edition having a circular red mark on the DVD`s bottom right corner. So, when I first discovered Burial Ground a few years back, I also discovered this film right along with it.

So if you liked Andrea Bianchi's sleazy giallo "Strip Nude for Your Killer" or his extremely entertaining zombie film "Burial Ground" give this sleaze classic a look. Not to mention the sheltered castle setting is straight out of a 60s Italian gothic, so this really has it all. Sister Sofia, a nun played by Mariangela Giordano, is determined to save Bimba's soul from demonic influence, but this task will be more demanding than even she can imagine.However the sister soon suspects that Bimba has become possessed by an insatiable, sex starved demon which will stop at nothing, including murder, to fulfill its depraved and unholy desires. What this has to do with the actual movie is anybody's guess, so I suppose I should get on with an actual review.
