About this deal
We found that the image quality was not up to the standard of the Freeview tuner in our test TV - the quality of your connections may play a part in this (another reason you might want to take advantage of the aerial loop through). Overall, it is very easy to navigate and we had no problems setting up programmes we wanted to record, but lacked the quality that our TV EPG presents. For the past 2 days, in the evening (after the PVR has been switched off for around 18 hours), when Ive pressed the start button on the remote control, the machine hasnt switched on. The manual is on a DVD which is great for saving trees as you don't get millions of versions in hundreds of languages so very enviromentally friendly in that respect.
Well I've been using the box for a few days now and it's been fine, never missed a recording or locked up. Hearst UK is the trading name of the National Magazine Company Ltd, 30 Panton Street, Leicester Square, London, SW1Y 4AJ. Unlike a poor analogue signal (a picture that is fuzzy or breaks up), a digital receiver can either decode the signal or not (on or off); that said some receivers are more sensitive than others. In keeping with its old-school aesthetic, the PVR's top trick is a picture-in-picture function, whereby the secondary screen is either inset or presented side by side with the first.Pitty Humax can not get there Freeview PVRs to populate the EPG as quick as what there Freesat boxes do. I would love to know what is different between the 9200 (which doesn't suffer from this problem) and the 9150/9300 which do. After a month of use the Humax hasn't frozen up or corrupted any recordings, unlike our old Thomson unit. This may well be the case with 9150T a well, because Humax have managed to transfer most of the features (good or bad) across to the 9150.
It is not the biggest of drives, but for those looking to record on an ad hoc basis this is more than adequate, giving you about 100 hours of television recording. Beneath the bonnet reside two standard-definition Freeview tuners, which enable two channels to be recorded simultaneously. Some mention that it's quiet on stand-by and quiet in operation, while others say that it was very noisy and spoilt the whole experience.
