About this deal

The silicone grips utilise cutting-edge Heatwave technology, transforming your microwave into a conventional cooker and getting lunch ready in minutes. Richard Tubb is one of the best-known experts within the global IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) community. Micro cookware is the quick and easy solution to create tasty food straight from the microwave in a fraction of the time it takes to cook conventionally. The two sandwich plates feature our Heatwave technology, and toast food on both sides at the same time - saving time and washing up.

A cheese toastie is one of life’s simple pleasures: crisp bread plus oozing melted cheese, what’s not to like?Thank you to fellow Toastie aficionado Jason Etherington of Xerox for the ground-breaking introduction to the Mico.

Richard helps IT business owner’s take back control by freeing up their time and building a business that can run without them.We were a little sceptical about how the bread would fare in the microwave as it has a tendency to become either soggy or dry and overcooked. Enjoy at home or on-the-go and avoiding possible cross contamination of food which makes the Mico range Coelic friendly. Preparing fresh food has never been so easy - with the Mico Toastie (V2), you can toast a range of food in minutes without a traditional sandwich toaster or grill. Silicone clips secure the two plates above and below the sandwich – they stretch a little to allow extra room for fuller toasties.

If I had a Morphy Richards Mico Toastie, I could “create a microwavable snack that’s as tasty as a conventional toastie”.

This is a classic George Foreman grill; it has a floating hinge and slanted plates with a non-stick coating. so long as the bread is a standard-size square, you can “toast” a sandwich in the microwave using the Mico Toastie. Despite the misleading name, it actually makes two sandwiches at a time, making it ideal for a small family.

Simply designed, this large toastie maker from VonShef makes up to 4 toasties at a time, making it perfect for families or toastie fanatics. It takes about five minutes and is sort of like grilling a sandwich in a frying pan: the bread crisps up and clean-up is simple (the Mico Toastie is dishwasher safe), but it’s just not quite the real deal. Two methods tied for first place: a) the Mico Potato; and b) microwaving potatoes for five minutes, then crisping them up in the oven for 15 minutes at 200°C.

With the cooking plates on the inside, there's no cross contamination when making your lunch or snack. At just 29cm wide, this compact little toastie maker takes up very little space on the kitchen counter. Like a couple of other models on the list, we found the toastie plates a bit too large for standard supermarket bread. Plus, you can use a panini press to reheat pizza and grill steak, making it a far more versatile option. No larger than a side plate, this nifty little gadget from Morphy Richards allows you to make toasties in the microwave.
