Chose from our family of low odor, polyurethane casting resin. We offer AquaClear which is a water clear resin, KastEZ and Por-A-Cast resins which are an ivory-white opaque resin the sat in about 10-mintes. All our resins conveniently mix at a one-to-one ratio so you don’t need a scale to weigh them out, just match the levels in the two containers and mix. It is that easy. These resins are also the ideal bonding agent to mix with our clod casting powders. Silicone Casting Materials However, it is highly recommended that you DO NOT use any other substances with ArtResin, as this might alter its environment-friendly nature.
Other great resin release agent alternatives include talcum powder, petroleum jelly, and vegetable oil. For inexpensive reproductions using our casting material, nothing beats CastRite Art Stone for high quality, high detail reproductions. Its bright white finish resists moisture and is ideal for painting. For mask making and props, you can’t beat our RD-407 Casting Latex. It is used with a CastRite molds to provide long-lasting, flexible rubber reproductions. Our RD-407 is also a high quality dipping latex used for a wide variety of purpose including covering and insulating tool handles and waterproof coatings. Cold Casting Materials Work the plaster/resin surfaces damp, wherever possible, to avoid the build-up of dust, which must not be inhaled. It’s best to continually mop up dust with damp sponge-cloths. Do not rub your eyes!
Instead of using UV resin, a good UV resin alternative is 2-part epoxy resin. 2-part epoxy resin is much cheaper, and no additional equipment is needed with it. Extra hard, extra white high quality casting resin - the finish is more like polyester resin than plaster. This is great for moulding models, artworks and everyday objects. It can be filed, sanded, glued, coloured, perfumed, painted and varnished. Perfect for testing out any moulds you've made before going ahead with a more expensive material like metal clay. You need to find a resin tape alternative if you are not willing to use tape while curing your resin art. People usually don’t go for UV resin as it shrinks in the molds it’s left in and leaves a residue no matter how much time is given to its curing.It’s also not a cheap resin. You can also use polypropylene plastics and freezer papers to dry the resin art.
