About this deal

With its 5600 – 100 Degree K over the entire power range, your images look consistent and accurate every time you shoot with the AD200 Pro. Event photographers, particularly wedding photographers, rely upon it as a reliable staple in their flash kit. It has a compact form that produces plenty of light for an all-day event. The rear LCD screen is on the bottom of the flash. It's small but functional and the buttons are logically placed. The buttons and dial feel nice and responsive.

Misfires: I have had some issues with misfires, but nothing that would impact the timing of my shot or risk the potential of my images. The highest misfire rate I experienced was using HSS in broad daylight. I remember vividly when it was announced. I remember thinking “This looks like the perfect flash for wedding photography” In my first review I concluded that it was the best flash you never knew you needed. Since then a lot has changed. There are now quite a number of accessories available for the AD200 and Godox have built an entire ecosystem of flashes and add-ons you can buy. I find many photographers overestimate how much flash power they need. As I stated, the Godox AD200Pro can fire 500 full-power flashes before exhausting the battery. The bare bulb flash head works well inside a softbox or umbrella, as the bare bulb spreads the light around evenly.Three years after their release, there are imitators but no-one close to competing with this innovative flash. The Godox AD200's really are the perfect mix of flexibility, portability as well as being great value for money. The AD200 Pro comes with both bare bulb flash head and speedlite flash head, giving you more options for lighting your scene or subject matter. I don’t use high speed sync. If I wanted to keep the aperture shallow then I would have to go into HSS mode. In which case I don’t think one AD200 would be enough to overpower the sun due to the power loss inherent with HSS.

The EC200 is an extension cable which allows you to mount the detachable head on top of a light stand and the head unit at the bottom. It’s takes more time to set up but having the weight at the bottom helps the stability if you use lightstands. In practice I found it a bit of a faff to set up at weddings. Magmod

4 of My Favorite Ways to Use Godox AD200’s for Wedding Photography

When you see F1 on display, that’s for the beeper. Turn the dial once to turn the mode off, press the center dial button, and now you have quiet mode. I’ve had quite a few messages from people asking what the differences are between them and if the additional cost is worth it.

The stable color mode is particularly helpful in product photography. If you’re taking photos of a bottle of Coca-Cola, then the red logo better be “Coke” red. 9: Compact DesignThe Godox AD200Pro can make 1/10th stop incremental power changes instead of the 1/3rd stop increments on the Godox AD200. I don’t regularly use high-speed sync, but it can save your day when you need outdoor portraits to overpower the sun. Technically not a Godox AD200 accessory but I think it’s fair to say that this is the light modifier of choice for most wedding photographers.
