About this deal

There are numerous perspectives in this book and several main characters. I thought it would be confusing but the author started with a character overview section, which must have helped because I was never confused. I think she named the characters well enough too to eliminate confusion. One Day With You is an intensely emotional read featuring, amongst other things, infidelity, death, dementia, and second-chance love. A bizarre mix, but it mostly works. It is told from the points of view of Tress, Max, Noah and Nancy, the bulk of the story taking place over a twenty four hour period. And if you enjoy true-life, toe curling moments, then don’t miss my motherhood memoir, Because Mummy Said So. It’s a collection of features I’ve written over the last twenty years about raising a family: an endless stream of disasters, dramas, embarrassing moments, childhood milestones, and chaotic summer holidays. And laughs. Lots of laughs. Man, I was not expecting to feel so much when I started this book. This would make a fantastic book club selection. There is so much to discuss here. I found this book to be well written and well thought out. I also enjoyed the pacing.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. Tress Walker and her loving husband Max are expecting their first child. Max goes off for an overnight meeting in London when Tress goes into labor. She takes help from her next-door neighbor Nancy Jenkins, unaware that Max is not where he said he would be. The Story of Our Secrets” is a stand alone novel that was released in the year 2021. Colm O’Flynn was loved by his close circle of friends and family, but his death came much too soon for everybody to make peace with their own past.So as much as I would like to say that the addictive writing and wonderful characters, plus emotionally tinged plotlines got me - they only did for the first half. Rest of the half was spent debating whether I should hurl myself out of this room and into a cave to cry and be frustrated for forever, or throw the book into outer space. Shari Low's ONE DAY WITH YOU is a highly emotional, gripping journey of One day. 24 Hours. Two couples. Five people who will have their lives changed. Nancy’s POV was interesting too, and I was glad to see everything come together at the end. The found family trope was heartwarming to read. I did get the emotional aspect of the book, the realism as well, but the stupid decisions I did not, and some of the ignorance the characters held about the people they knew. My Thoughts: This book grabbed me from the first sentence through the end. Unique premise of this all takes place in a day. When Tress waves her husband off to work, she has no idea that she will go into labor and cannot locate Max. Max’s best friend, Noah, also has no idea that his wife, Anya, has been lying to him. Finally, the neighbor between the couples, Nancy, has the chance at meeting her first love again. You travel along all of these characters for a twenty-four period of life, some altering events, that breaths a sliver of hopefulness.

What nobody knows is somewhere out there Colm left messages for them that could set them free and allow them to start over once more. Can divine intervention help them out to locate Colm’s last wishes before it becomes too late to love again? DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Boldwood Books via Netgalley for providing a digital ARC of One Day With You by Shari Low for review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions. It was exciting, relatable, perhaps heartwarming to read the story at first, but as time went on, I could only curse the characters, and the impending depression that I ended up dealing with, after having finished the book. This was an entirely, depressing, complex and sadly true novel, for people who know someone or have experienced the tragedies, highs and lows in their life, as such the characters do in this novel.I knew what to expect when I requested the book. I wasn’t looking for a fresh theme/ topic. I was only curious to see how the author executed it.

I loved how every chapter was a character's POV. There were times in this book, I found myself thinking "No, no, no, no, no!" and others where I felt various emotions. This book was equal parts gripping, tense and emotional. It's heartbreaking but ends on a hopeful note. Four POV — We meet two couples: Tress and Max Walker and their friends Noah and Anya Clark. Their lives change forever in the span of a few hours. It’s a heartbreaking story in some ways but also one of new beginnings. For the most part it unfolded about like I was expecting except for the ending. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. I liked how Tress’s mother isn’t the stereotypical bitter/ emotionally unavailable mom. Tress grew up in a positive environment, and her trust in Max stems from her good heart.Nancy I couldn't sleep last night for thinking about seeing you again tonight. We've got so many years to make up for. Counting the hours. Love, Eddie.' Well Shari Low does it again. Absolutely loved this book, didn’t want it to end! I actually felt as though I was in the row behind them.
