About this deal

Shooting assist functions including V-Log L View Assist, Luminance Spot Meter, and Zebra Pattern can be used during RAW output. Myself I'm finding that I use my 20mm a lot. Myself the 25mm is somehow just that bit tighter and larger that I don't use it so much. Which is contrary to what I experienced with 35mm gear where my 24 and my 50 were my favourites. It's very fast to focus, renders very nicely and the clutch-focus mechanism is useful for manual focus.

Both of these lenses are very well made and feel solid in the hand. The Panasonic does have an all plastic build (with the exception of the mount) but it still feels like a quality item. The focus ring turns with just the right amount of weight and it attaches to both my Olympus OM-D and Panasonic GF-1 with a smooth a reassuring clunk. As nice as the Panasonic is, the Olympus does trump the Panasonic’s build with a body that is almost entirely made of metal. The Olympus 17mm is noticeably larger and heavier than the Panasonic 20mm, but it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for those looking for a compact normal prime lens.

I will say that the 25mm f1.7 is gaining a bit of a reputation for inconsistent AF (as in lens reporting focus but not being in focus an abnormally high percentage of the time). So I'd say that's way worse than slower but more accurate. With this update, it is possible to load low compression and high quality data directly to the PC without transcoding for smooth NLE(non-linear editing)

It's definitely not suitable for video or C-AF tho... If they were closer in price (which they are now), and I didn't care about the 17's size, it might've been a tougher choice, for me. They're cheaper than PL 15/1.7 but also work well as hybrid Still/Video lens as well. 20/1.7 is good STILL photo lens, but not a hybrid video lens. You're satisfaction with 20/1.7 highly depends on how much video you shoot. In term of AF speed, all other 4 lens focus faster than 20/1.7. 20/1.7 is one of the oldest M43 lens and AF motor hasn't been improved. Through the firmware updates, Panasonic proposes future-ready solutions for more flexible filmmaking workflow using mirrorless cameras. The 14 f2.5 is the most compact option, but like the 12-32 there's no lens hood for it; I don't know if a hood exists for the 20mm but doubt it. It is possible to format the SD Memory Card from the camera menu on the live view display of LUMIX Tether while the camera is connected with the PC.The 20mm lens has been reported to suffer from banding on some Oly bodies, for reasons I haven't seen explained satisfactorily, so I've avoided it as I have both Oly and Pany bodies. C-AF - 15/1.7 really SHINE and where 20/1.7 problematic unrelaible AF hunt become really noticeable and very VERY annoying. For settings and controls over the BGH1 via PC during IP streaming, LUMIX Tether for Multicam PC software should also be updated to Ver.1.1 or higher.

I have been to Sweden, in the early 90s before the existance of google translate, had a few lessons before, several after and then I translated two books the hard way from swedish to french. A very hard exercise that worn down my fransk svensk ordbook, but with obvious results in the end.Ever since the time of introduction, the LUMIX GH6 gained high attention and have been acclaimed after its release to the market not only from the conventional GH users but also from the new GH users worldwide. The GH6 is planned to “evolve” with firmware updates to further enhance its performance and usability for professional video creators, as previously announced. I've never used the 15, but I do have the 20 and I like it a lot. I use it when I want a fast alternative to a zoom, it produces nice colours. I appreciate everyone's replies, and the images shown here (plus the video) really drive the point home. The 20mm looks beautiful for photos of still subjects (and maybe some utility for slow motion) but for video the 15mm f/1.7 is really the only consideration, for the Panasonic lenses. (The pancake zooms aren't a bad option, but I do need low-light capabilities, unfortunately...)
