About this deal

this was not a love in first sniff.I don't like it's opening that much. it's a bit sharp and somehow dusty! but after a few minutes it dries down to this addictive, powdery skin scent which I can't get enough of it. Fragrances, like music are very evocative of memories of times, places, and scenes you have encountered during your life experience. Some fragrances take you on a journey. On first smelling Oud Rosewood in an instant I was transported somewhere... It's like a mixture of Kuumba Made Amber Paste with Demeter Baby Powder and Skin Musk. A little rose essential oil for good measure.

Desert Rosewood is a dry, warm spicy scent. I don't get a rich balsamic vibe to it, more just a dry spice. I get the cardamom, rosewood and patchouli in particular. It reminds me a little of Aesop's Marrakech Intense in that regard. They are not the same fragrance, but they both have that spiciness that smells as if you are sniffing spices from a spice drawer. There is minimal sweetness to this scent despite the benzoin, vanilla and mandarin notes. These 3 notes do give a tad bit more of a roundness to the scent instead of it being just straight wood and spices. For the Reed Diffuser Refill: You will receive a 100ml plastic bottle filled with a special compound blended with a fragrance of your choice. The Reed diffuser refill can be poured into the bottle you already have and use the same reeds. Please Note: You will not receive the glass bottle or reeds shown in the picture as that is for illustration purposes only. Diffuser Oil: A lot of our customers use our oils with home electric diffusers, but fiddling with the roller ball top can be an inconvenience so we are happy to bring to our range 15ml dropper bottles, simply add drops as per your requirements and enjoy the fragrance, less hassle, less mess.the raspberry and quince jam are there to provide just some sweetness and tartness. they are not dominant at all.

I love the rich amber color, representing the twilight desert, inside the jar made with French glass. As for the projection, it is a fragrance of low trace and high comfort. It exudes to the wearer and draws attention to who is close enough to feel it. It has high durability. On my skin this is an absolute monster. It will not fade or disappear until i wash it off with lots of soap. I have this, Leather Oud (LO) and Purple Oud (PO) and i think this might actually be the "dirtiest" of the three - even more so than LO which is famous for being very funky. This one is VERY animalic and indolic after the initial fruity notes has disappeared. Where LO starts our funky but then settles in to something a bit more crowd pleasing this one keeps going strong. Bought the discovery set and this ended up being my favourite, as well as my favourite fragrance I've smelt so far (as a relative beginner). I get a warm spicy, but not too spicy (otherwise it would remind me of something "old fashioned"), vanilla, booze-y, gourmand smell. I couldn't get enough of it and on some nights would give myself a spray before going to sleep just so I could smell it as I drifted off too. I personally don't get anything "medicinal" or synthetic from this like some, I get something very warm, very gourmand, quite whiskey/liquerous and vanilla (with also wood undertones). It was paradise, my husband was extremely patient and went everywhere with me - I think he even liked it a little bit... Raspberry - I get a touch of sweetness in this that must be the raspberry note. I don’t find this note to be a very authentic raspberry, but it’s the same type of sweetness you find in Tuscan Leather. The most evocative shades of brown. Oud Rosewood conveys the olfactory image of both a warm brown streaked with light brown, like a round, soft and lustrous rosewood, and the more rugged, nomadic brown of oud wood." Oud Rosewood has a similar DNA to Santal Noir however, it is less sweet and much spicier. It has a beautiful smokiness to it that I really love - it's like the smokiness in Santal Noir's dry down but better. This tips it more masculine than feminine for me. I have to say out of all of them this one is my favourite and I plan to get this when I finish my bottle of ristretto intense cafe.

Rosewood is prized as much for its delicate fragrance, as for its solid wood, but also for its therapeutic virtues. In aromatherapy, the essential oil of rosewood is a powerful ally of the skin. Softening and firming, it brings radiance to the epidermis. It is therefore an excellent natural anti-aging! Thanks to the presence of linalool in its composition, this essence also has antiviral and anti-infectious properties. Its soft and subtle fragrance is also indicated to calm stress and anxiety. The use of rosewood in perfumery The extraction of the essential oil performance is very good / slightly above average. i was able to detect it on my arm close to the skin in the morning 14 hours after application. projection was very good also. not as strong as oud ispahan. But Rosewood didn't let go of me, I couldn't stop thinking about that fine fragrance. It is not mega unique but I have never met anything comparable. Sniffed from the bottle it's gorgeous, soft, clean, warm, feminine. Sprayed directly into the air in front of me, it's just alcohol. When I spray on skin, I get an initial burst of something sharp and bitter, mixed with a powdery sweetness. I think the sharp, bitter note might be the bergamot, but it's barely recognisable as citrus. For the first few minutes I couldn't tell if I liked it on my skin or not, but now it's settling into something soft and powdery, leaning sweet vanilla, more like it smelled directly from the bottle. I am getting the babywipes/talc vibe a little bit. But it's pretty. The florals aren't listed but are definitely coming through now, after about twenty minutes of it sitting on my skin. A smattering of pink rose petals, and maybe a sprinkle of something else. The florals are delicate and elegant. I don't really get any tea, I don't think. In contrast to some people below i think this is very much in the same vein as LO and PO - they certainly share the same Dior-oud note and where PO is a bit drier and LO is a bit rounder than OR, the dry down of all three are fairly similar (except for the extra animality in this one). The official scent pyramid lists only three notes of amber, tea and citrus. I also detect a hint of musk and sandalwood. The composition overall is well-blended and easy to wear. The projection is moderate to soft, however, the longevity is surprisingly decent lasting approximately seven hours on my skin.

Overall : 9/10 Even though projection and sillage aren't beast performance, the scent is always most important and this stuff smells amazing. Ingredients: Aqua, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Polysorbate 20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Carbomer, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hydroxide, Parfum

As someone said below, Rosewood doesn't shout, it whispers. It's a perfume that carries itself with quiet confidence, and one which gives the best hugs. I am going to wear this for the rest of the week to give myself a proper chance to get to know it, because I do love the way I smell right now. I'm just not sure yet that it's very 'me'.
