About this deal

Salford’s Four Sis4ers Distillery has launched a limited edition fruit-waste strawberry gin to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, called Wonky Windsor. This pink gin is made with the fruits of ‘wonky’ British strawberries. It has been distilled in the distillery’s Arnold Holstein copper still, and inspired by King Charles’ love of the environment and passion for sustainability. This English whisky was created using Plumage Archer barley grown on the Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire, England, and was distilled, matured, and bottled exclusively by the Cotswolds Distillery.

Shakespeare Distillery has launched a new Jubilee Gin to coincide with the celebrations around the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Royal Pie comprises roasted wild mushroom, spinach and butternut squash with wild mushroom sauce, and features a special hand crafted royal crest on its puff pastry lid. In the summer of 2007, King Charles III declared The English Distillery officially open. The dram-loving monarch even took ownership of a few of the maturing casks, making the Norfolk-based distillery one of his preferred English whisky producers. The team at the Shakespeare Distillery in Stratford-upon-Avon has crafted a dry gin that takes inspiration from the late Queen and Queen Mother’s love for a gin and Dubonnet. It is said King Charles likes a Martini every night before dinner, however his exact preference for how it is served is unknown. We might assume, however, that he might opt for a gin he has an affinity with, such as Hepple Gin. In 2018, Hepple welcomed King Charles III to its estate in Northumbria where he planted his own juniper tree. Wonky Windsor is a 37.5% ABV pink gin made with the fruits of cast off ‘wonky’ British strawberries. Distilled slowly in the business’s Arnold Holstein copper still, this spirit is inspired by King Charles’ love of the environment and passion for sustainability.

With fresh citrus notes of grapefruit, crushed juniper and pink pepper on the nose, and a hit of jammy raspberry and fresh strawberry with a hint of vanilla on the palate, it’s easy to tell that the limited edition Platinum Jubilee gin by the Cotswold Distillery was inspired by classic British summer desserts. Shakespeare Distillery has launched Coronation Gin to coincide with the crowning of King Charles III. A blend of more than 53 rare malt and grain whiskies, the Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition is a rich and complex expression with notes of fresh redcurrants, dark chocolate praline, and freshly roasted chestnuts, and a palate of sweet figs and fresh ginger leading up to a long and rich finish with a playful spice. As well as marking this historic day in history, the coronation of King Charles III also marks a new era for this Scotch whisky brand, as it was first created as a gift for Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation in 1953. The whisky is housed in a Dartington Crystal decanter, tinted in a deep sapphire blue hue, reminiscent of the precious stones set within the Imperial State Crown. In keeping with Royal Salute’s signature style, the decanter is presented in a wooden box inspired by the iconic Westminster Abbey, with details intricately chiselled into the wood, paying tribute to the historic setting of British Coronation ceremonies since 1066.The beer continues the brewery’s tradition of creating limited edition ales to celebrate Royal occasions. It joins a distinguished lineage including Celebration Ale which marked Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 and most recently, Royal Salute, which commemorated the Diamond and Platinum Jubilees in 2012 and 2022. Shepherd Neame holds Royal Warrants for its flagship Spitfire Amber Ale as well as Grants Morella Cherry Brandy.

Boasting a new recipe, crafted specifically to celebrate the historical occasion, Silent Pool’s Coronation Gin has been made using infusions of King Charles’ favourite Surrey botanicals, plants and flowers, with gentle notes of bergamot orange, complemented by elegant floral notes from rose petals, lavender and chamomile. Distilled at The City of London Distillery, the first and only gin distillery in the heart of London for more than 200 years, Whitley Neill Connoisseur’s Cut Gin is a classic London Dry expression that sits at 47% ABV, letting the rich juniper and citrus notes shine through. The beer is said to have light caramel notes and a deep golden hue with east Kent Goldings hops adding a spiciness to the citrus and fruit aromas, rounded out with subtle bitterness from a generous hopping of Kentish Challenger. Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame said: “We are delighted to mark this historic occasion, the Coronation of King Charles III, with a special beer. We hope that our customers will enjoy raising a glass to toast such a special occasion.” Raising a glass to the highly anticipated coronation of King Charles III is Silent Pool, a brand that is no stranger to commemorative royal bottlings. Releasing an exclusive Coronation Gin ‘fit for a royal’, the limited edition blue and purple bottle is said to be the perfect tipple for enjoying at a street party.

To make it that extra bit special, the producer has also steeped some butterfly pea flowers into the gin to give it a blue hue, resulting in a ‘delicate and well-balanced’ gin. Shakespeare Distillery suggests serving the gin with either Fever-tree Elderflower Tonic or Fever-tree Light Indian tonic water and a slice of lemon. To complement the ale, project executive chef Sang Nguyen has created three new limited-edition food dishes with a royal twist that will be available at selected Shepherd Neame pubs across the Coronation weekend. Brewer T&R Theakston is raising a pint in celebration of the seventh coronation in its almost 200-year history with the launch of a special edition beer for King Charles III.

Theakston Brewery joint managing director Simon Theakston said: “As a brewery, we’re immensely proud of our almost 200-year heritage and it’s fascinating to consider that as a business we have been witness to nine monarchs and seven coronations.” Presented in a dark glass bottle with an eye-catching regal purple and silver label, the Cotswolds Distillery wanted to make a gin with all the depth of flavour and complexity expected of a Cotswolds Distillery gin, but with a delicious summertime twist, creating the perfect combination between classic and contemporary to mark this very special event.Combining flavours of orange and currants with the warming spices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, rosemary, coriander, and angelica, the resulting juniper-led gin has a fruity and robust finish, fit for a king. It is recommended served with Fever-Tree tonic, ice, and a slice of orange. Those who get their hands on one of the 6,500 bottles will find the liquid – which has been gently infused with kumquat and Japanese Oolong tea while also blended with a small amount of Asian pear juice and peach – to be smooth on the palate, filled with classic juniper, creamy tea and spiced bright peppery notes, all of which is underpinned with a hint of smokiness.
