About this deal

I'd like to also point out that Ryder Carroll has not attempted to monetize his original system in ANY WAY. Everything you need to know about bullet journaling, he offers for free. The only stuff he actually sells is completely optional to your adoption and deployment of the process. DOT JOURNALING IS A RENAME OF BULLET JOURNALING BUT PRETENDING IT'S DIFFERENT SO MAYBE THE AUTHOR DOESN'T GET SUED.

This is a free sample from my course, Artistic Planning For Beginners, on Foxsy.com. With a Foxsy membership, you can access this course along with 24 others on subjects such as watercoloring, creative journaling, hand lettering, drawing, and so much more. Take the first step toward making 2023 your year of creativity! Oh it's a "future spread," is it? You sure you're not just misremembering "future log"? LOL just kidding, we all know it's so you can pretend this is your system somehow. There are many dot grid journal currently available, but a few have risen to be the cream of the crop. What makes them popular? The quality and smoothness of the paper, the intensity of the dots, and the overall layout of the notebook. To be able to follow the original bullet journal method you really don’t need morethan a single pen you enjoy writing with. However, you might find that with time you will want to try different varieties of pens.A dot journal is basically a planner + to-do list + dairy all in one spot. You can organise it the way that works for you, and there is no right or wrong way to do it. If you are anything like me and want a little guidance on how to get started with it, just keep reading. Why Choose Dot Grid Journals Over Other Journals? As many people move to a new journal, they have to think about what to do with old collections. Do you rewrite them all in the new journal? Do you leave them behind? For everyone, this answer will be different. However, there are some things to consider. Is the collection a one-time list or something that you use again and again? I am a big fan of the erasable Pilot Frixion Colors– nothing beats the ability to erase your mistakes especially when you like to keep your bujo looking clean! Then, add your Tasks, Events, and Notes for the day to your list. You can set aside time in the morning to list out your bullets, or you can add them as they occur to you. This is like the nonfiction version of crappy fanfiction. Basically, this is someone writing "Larry Potter," copying all of the original author's ideas with only mild riffs off of the source material, including one absurdly brief mention of J.K. Rowling without including full context, and selling it to make money for themselves on something THEY DID NOT INVENT.

The caveat with the erasable pens is that in time they may fade and erase if exposed to heat, so I don’t write essential things with them. But they are a lot of fun to work with and I use them quite a lot. Now is the perfect time to start a daily diary. And a dot grid notebook is ideal. Record thoughts, impressions, memories and ideas – whatever helps you to de-stress or process your day. Just use the horizontal dots the way you’d use lines in a ruled notebook. It may take a little practice, but you’ll be into the swing of it after a line or two. The RETTACY Dot Grid Notebook has a transparent hardcover to keep it protected. And even though it’s not quite durable enough to use without a tabletop, the clear cover is a nice touch that allows you to create a “custom” cover without writing on the cover itself—perfect for changing things up every once in a while. Simply put a collection is just a bunch of related ideas grouped together, think of them as like bullet journal inserts, and they can be in any form! A clever way of designing a monthly spread is just to use a traditional calendar layout. An easy one for bullet journal beginners is this one from @kisskissbullet.There is no “right” way to do this. This system is designed to be completely adaptable to each unique user. There is no such thing as being too minimalist, too colorful, too fancy, too rough, too ANYTHING. I still haven’t broken my habit of writing on tiny slips of paper, but now I washi tape them straight into my dot journal (if I still need them.) It adds some color and I can find the note again. It could be a listof things you plan to do, places to visit, things to buy, stuff to try, your future log… The list goes on indefinitely.

These are my everyday bullet journal writing and drawing pens. They are made with archival ink which is waterproof and doesn’t bleed through any of the paper I have ever used. Dot grid paper, notebooks, and journals are trendy among people who love to do hand lettering, calligraphy, drawing, and, above all, bullet journaling. Dot journals are also available in A5 ( 5″ X 8.3″) size. A5 size in the perfect size as they are large enough to work in and yet small enough to take it anywhere. Dot Journal Ideas To Get You Started

Add any important upcoming events, deadlines, goals, or test dates to the Future Log. Remember, these aren’t tasks or to-dos, but significant events, important deadlines, or other dates to remember. Image Credit: flyingpaperwords Step 4: Set up the Monthly Log It’s a pretty notebook, to boot, especially since it comes in various colors that range from deep purple to a soft white. No matter what color you choose, the cover is made of the same high-quality, ethically sourced vegan leather. In regards to the bullet journal method ( the original bullet journal concept ), some collections are inherited to the system, such as your daily and month logs, and most people use them.
