About this deal

Ed is also a painter, working from his studio in East London and is represented by galleries in London and Los Angeles. The illustrations, which look like they might be some sort of wood or block print (not sure about the medium - I really wish publishers always provided that information on the colophon! Reading Max the Brave took us back to our roots, when years ago we first started to read and beg our parents to come and tell us just one more bedtime story.

The Max The Brave Fund was set up in August 2019 after Max sadly passed away from a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumour (MRT a rare childhood cancer). This is such a great series for allowing the reader to know and understand something that the main character does not. Definitely recommend Max the Brave for the younger ones — and would definitely be great in the classroom!Bold, simple pictures and a simple story give this potential for story time, and kids will enjoy identifying the othe animals as Max the kitten tries to figure out which one is a mouse.

This led to a genuinely amusing book that is sure to grab the attention of young readers and entertain the entire family all at once! Hotjar sets this cookie to know whether a user is included in the data sampling defined by the site's daily session limit. It was lovely to see Alanna from the Play Team, they do such a wonderful job with the children and have such an important role. As well as being named one of The Sunday Times's '100 Modern Children's Classics', Max was long listed for the Kate Greenaway medal and is published in over 15 languages.

This book is a complete delight from the text to the pictures to the perfection that is Max (the brave). He won the Highland Children's Book Award in 2007 for his book, The Getaway and was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal for children's book illustration, recognizing his 2008 picture book Banana. Not sure just what a mouse looks like, Max interrogates a number of creatures, asking each one whether they are a mouse. Children are sure to follow along, fully engrossed as they wait to see if Max finally finds that darn mouse. This book is absolutely adorable and my goddaughter (Rory the Brave) is going to love it when she gets it for Christmas.

We also supply the children and their carer with care packages of essential and luxury items to try and brighten their day. The Max The Brave Fund put together special birthday/milestone packages for children fighting cancer, when the little warriors are too poorly to make it home.
