About this deal

When testing its comfort, we felt there were many straps that secure the bag tightly to your body, which also allows it to be a perfect hiking bag. If you’re not hitting the trails, it’s also an excellent choice for water activities, thanks to its floating capabilities. To use it as a floating cooler, you’ll simply add air to the insulation through a valve, and then it can roll down a river right beside you. We also performed a controlled in-house ice retention test to verify brand claims. For the experiment, we filled each cooler 70% with fresh, frozen cubed ice and set them in a shaded, dry indoor space at about 65 degrees Fahrenheit. With Arctic Zone rolling out a premium hard-sided cooler lineup, we are in a much better place to compare the brands.

This type of scenario is more aligned with our real-life testing. We will fill the ice chest approximately halfway up with ice, leave it in a semi-warm environment, and occasionally open the lid. This better emulates real-life use. Oftentimes, you are only paying for a name or logo when you pay extra for a cooler. For some, having the words “Yeti” or “Orca” printed on their ice chest is worth the increased price of admission. But for others, if they can find a cooler that performs as well (or sometimes better!) than the big brands then they are all for it. Compared to other similarly sized coolers on the market, these ice numbers are quite good. They will compete with most of the other premium brands such as RTIC, Yeti, Engel, etc. While we have come across a small number of coolers that have slightly longer ice life, the differences may be negligible to many people. Build quality is equally similar. And with Arctic Zone’s lifetime warranty, we may have to get a slight edge over them over Yeti.

Analysis and Test Results

You still may find a few coolers of these sizes that offer comparable ice life for a bit cheaper, but the differences are negligible. And the lifetime warranty helps to sell these coolers as great buys. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze Cooler vs. Yeti

The lineup of hard-sided coolers available from Arctic Zone right now is a bit limited. At the time of this writing, there are only 2 sizes available: 20 quarts and 55 quarts. These sizes fall into our “ small” and “ medium” cooler sizes. With this level of ice numbers, you will be able to use the coolers at the lake, on a camping trip, while tailgating, and many more applications. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze Cooler Aesthetics The Food Standards Agency recommends you keep your fridge set at 5°C, so that cold food stays at around 8°C. You'll want to keep your bag below 5°C, especially if you have perishables, for as long as you want to keep eating and drinking stuff from the bag. To replicate getting bits in and out of the bag, we open and close it at regular intervals throughout the test. For carrying, the smaller 20-quart size utilizes a pretty standard overhead carrying handle. This handle has a comfortable rubber grip that will make it easier to carry in wet or humid conditions. And on the larger size cooler ( 55-quart), there is the pretty typical side gripped handles. Since a full 55-quart cooler can be quite heavy, we always recommend finding a friend to help carry this cooler. For what is available, the overall shape and how the handles are oriented are very standard and what you are used to seeing with most other cooler brands. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze Cooler Features/Build Quality Pros:Great build quality, Excellent warranty, Good ice retention, On the lower end of the “premium” price point With so many different cooler options available these days, it is easy for a brand to get lost in the masses. While having your cooler “stand out” at the lake or next BBQ may not be a priority to some, for others it is a consideration. The only somewhat unique feature is the embedded fish ruler on the top of the lid. This feature is on quite a few other cooler brands’ products, but for some reason doesn’t seem to be as prevalent on new models as of late. It is refreshing to see it included with Arctic Zone’s products. For helping to seal the cooler lid, you will find a strong rubber T-latch similar to what you see in other cooler brands. This, in conjunction with the oversized rubber gasket, results in a strong seal that helps to retain cold air inside. This is especially important for those who live in the South and experience 90+ degree temperatures in the summer.

The roomy design will hold everything, though it’s heavy. The padded shoulder straps and hefty waist belt are nice, but we found it challenging to carry the cooler comfortably. We wish the straps were adjustable or the waist belt were removable. Testers noted that the hip belt sat too high for comfort. As for build quality, we don’t see any weak points. These coolers are Certified Bear Resistant and utilize quality materials and craftsmanship. But the most notable aspect of their quality is Arctic Zone’s limited lifetime warranty. There are very few cooler brands on the market that have lifetime warranties. And for it to be offered from a brand that traditionally focused on soft-sided coolers is a welcome surprise. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze Cooler Ice RetentionLayer strategically Put things you need last at the bottom, so when you go rummaging in the bag, it's for the shortest amount of time possible. No small accessory, the RTIC 30 is also huge. If you’re hanging out with a crowd or headed out for a full weekend, this cooler can handle the load. We loved this cooler for car camping, hanging out at a park or the beach, or anything around the water. The waterproof zipper is truly leakproof, plus the whole thing floats! Even after opening this cooler frequently, our food stayed cool all weekend long. However, in direct sunlight, the cooler gets hot to the touch.
