About this deal

Lucille is absolutely one of the most notorious weapons in television history. Her debut is widely regarded as the best character introduction to ever take place on The Walking Dead and her exit is simple and heartbreaking for Negan. Overall, she is one of the few inanimate objects that has managed to become her own character over the run of the show.

While fighting walkers with a baseball bat and later while reading a book on baseball to Judith, Michonne is reminded of Lucille. At the same time, Negan reaches out to Michonne in an effort to manipulate her into letting him see Lucille. Michonne eventually sees through Negan's efforts and tells him that they don't have Lucille and that the bat is "still out there," having presumably been abandoned by the Militia following Negan's defeat. When Negan’s wife got cancer he did stay by her side. He began an affair but never left Lucille and was next to her when she died. He seems to regret the affair and respects his wife Lucille very much. Hilarie Burton Morgan as Lucille and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan in ‘The Walking Dead’. Prior to the outbreak, Negan lived in Reston, Virginia and was the coach of a local high school, keeping his players in line through intimidation and bullying. He is happily married to his wife, Lucille, but nonetheless has a mistress on the side who doesn't know he is married. During an argument, Lucille collapses and he rushes her to the hospital, where she is diagnosed with cancer. As his wife is tended to, Negan tells his mistress the truth, and she immediately leaves him. When the zombie apocalypse starts, the hospital workers tell Negan they are being forced to abandon the hospital and he should leave with them, but he refuses to leave Lucille's side. Lucille dies when the power goes out, short-circuiting her life-support machine; moments later, she reanimates as a zombie. He flees the hospital and finds a boy being trapped by zombies, and helps to dispatch them with a fire extinguisher. In return, Negan asks the boy to kill Lucille for him. [8] A Larger World [ edit ] In the second installment, we learn that Negan’s wife has cancer. We also learn that, after Negan finds out his wife’s diagnosis, he has an affair to help him emotionally cope with her illness. In the third installment, however, Negan tells his wife about the affair and ends it, deciding to rededicate his life to his wife, to be there by her side. Unfortunately, his wife’s condition continues to deteriorate. During his speech to the Commonwealth, Eugene mentions his time with the Saviors and that he was just as culpable for what they did through his inaction even though "I didn't swing the bat." Season 1: Dead City [ ] " Old Acquaintances" [ ]Probably the most asked question when Negan and Lucille first came on-screen was why Negan had named his bat. It was clearly an important name to him as his bat was treated so well. It was also such an interesting name for something he used so violently. Louisville sluggers and therefore Lucille, weigh anywhere in between thirty ounces and forty-five ounces. The most likely weight of Lucille is forty-three ounces with a length of about forty-two inches. That would make Lucille a regulation heavyweight Louisville slugger that could do some serious damage. After the introduction of Lucille audiences desperately wanted to know the meaning behind her name. As more people died at the end of this barbed wire covered bat, interest only grew. Why did a bat that was used so viciously have such a normal name? Although not mentioned in the show, Lucille appears to be a Louisville Slugger, as she sports the oval shaped logo, a trademark of that baseball bat.

With a painful look on his face, Negan tries to see if that is still his wife by calling out her name: Lucille. The last time we see Lucille is the end of season eight. At the end of season eight, we see Lucille left behind as Negan is dragged to prison. She is left alone in a field and never seen again on the television show. Pruner, Aaron (December 3, 2015). In season 8, Negan vaguely states that he helped young people improve upon their weaknesses and molded them into stronger individuals. In the season 10 episode " Here's Negan", he is portrayed as having been a high school gym teacher. Negan later met a woman named Lucille and the pair fell in love and married. Over time, however, Negan began cheating on her. She found out about the affair and he begged her forgiveness, which she granted. Around this time, Negan was fired from his job because he assaulted a man whose kids went to the school he taught at because the man had insulted his wife. In the onset of the outbreak, Negan ventured out into the walker-filled wilderness to find medicine for Lucille's pancreatic cancer, but when he returned, he found that she had died and become a walker. He cannot bring himself to put his wife down; this act of weakness would continue to haunt him and thus Negan strived to become a much stronger person. The bikers are now beating Franklin up in a bid to find out where “the good stuff is”. Outside the bar, a noticeably changed Negan clubs one of the bikers to death with Lucille and shoots another. A shoot-out ensues, allowing Franklin to free himself as Negan forces his way into the bar. Shoe now firmly on the other foot, Negan tells the now-restrained gang leader that he’s “got some stuff to get off my chest” and “this time, you best hope I never stop talking – cos when I do, something bad is going to happen”. It’s good to know that Negan wasn’t always so brutal. In the early days of the end-of-days, we see a terrified Negan trying and failing to put a walker down by ineffectively stabbing it in the eye. He nearly becomes zombie supper but for Lucille, who fires the couple’s final bullet into the walker’s skull. Hey, we’ve all got to start somewhere when it comes to disposing of the undead, right? According to the fourth installment of “Here’s Negan”, the story is a bit more sad than many fans would have expected.
