About this deal

The art is beautiful. Really, the environments and the (male) characters are drawn in great detail and variety. The fight-scenes are well drawn and the facial expressions and movement of the characters are great. The extra chapters where Boichi explains the inspiration behind certain elements are interesting and can be felt afterwards in the sceneries and portrayal of Korea.

Don't Tell Mama: Played for comedic and dramatic effect as Ken tries to keep his role as one of the most powerful gang leaders in Korea a secret from his love interest, Yumi, who is a police officer working in the gang violence division. She also hates gangs because as the daughter to Japan's most powerful yakuza group, she lost her sister and mother to gang warfare. Rape as Drama: Ken doesn't always manage to save the many women under threat of rape that he encounters, which leads to this trope. Art Evolution: The art in the beginning volumes was pretty good to start with, but became incredibly polished as time went on. The women however, only appear is two varieties: Yumin clones and childlike Kae-Lyn clones that give you pedophile vibes. Neither is very well drawn with strange poses and weird proportions/anatomy. They are often drawn in the same poses with no body variety at all. There is also no shading in their faces to show any difference between the characters' features (whereas the male characters have this). I enjoyed this manga way way too much. You will laugh A FRIGGIN' LOT! You will get turned on and you will get sad, but most of all YOU WILL LAUGH A LOT! There are a number of Laugh out Loud moments and almost all of them WILL make you laugh. You'll find yourself cheering Ken and his gang over and over cause you will get sorta "attached" to them. They're just a fun group of people.I've never seen any Japaneese work where the main location is South Korea. Boichi (the author) is from South Korea, so he had much experience with the environment. When I first saw the Genres, I was pretty confused with the Drama, Ecchi combo, I couldn't imagine this 2 genres can work alongside, and as I speculated, they couldn't. The only time when this could be alongside with themself, when Ken had sex. But apart from that, there was always a situation where one genre overpowered the other one in a scene. And thanks to the ecchi, the female characters are pretty shitty, they have 2D Good All Along: Ban-Phoung had always admired Ken and was trying to protect him from the White Dragon Clan. any emotional reward that a regular ending should have. Since there isn't any foreshadowing it makes no sense why certain situations are occurring or why certain characters make random 180 degree personality decision especially in the final arc. Sometimes a character will make a random uncharacteristic decision and they just roll with it for an arc and then retcon it all by giving some half assed explanation even though there was no evidence of that actually happening. Food Porn: The author can go on complete tangents describing in incredible detail the food that the characters eat during the story. Describing the preparation of the ingredients, carefully detailing how it's all cooked while detailing how the various sauces and juices add to the taste and texture of the dish, finishing off by describing the delicious taste of the meal...

I would not say that it had the best story but it certainly provides and entertaining story. its about a girl who goes to Korea to become a cop and Ken who is a delinquent who follows her which I find a little bit weird but who cares. During his time in Korea ken becomes a boss of a gang I found this to be funny but serious a lot of the times. Boichi was also the artist of Raqiya written by Yajima Masao and published by Kodansha from 2008 to 2010 as well as for the TerraforMARS Asimov spin-off of 2016 published by Shueisha. Similarly, he was the artist of the oneshots Brutality by Takeda Yuusuke in 2007 and Eques by Kengo Miyatani in 2012.ART: If you've been involved with manga at all you probably already know how good the artwork is, especially when drawing people. Outside of the amazing character and landscape/cityscape drawings there are the fightscenes which can be hit or miss with the artwork. It feels like Boichi puts too much detail into them which can make them feel a bit stationary and stiff. in Japanese). Shōnen Gahosha. Archived from the original on September 4, 2007 .
