About this deal

Add algae concentrate or copper chelate solution to the water, depending on the needs of your pool. Clear Water Scrubbers are an external design that needs to be mounted higher than the sump of your tank for the drain to flow into or higher than the full water level of your sump with an in-sump stand. The feed for the scrubber can be done with a stand alone feed pump (we recommend a Sicce SDC 3.0) or manifold plumbed into the included ½” or 3/8” barb fitting. Water will then flow into the tray and down the algae screen that is blasted with a proprietary design of red/blue LED lights. Water will then drain into your sump thru the 1” bottom drain installed in the scrubber. Because pH measures how acidic or alkaline your water is, it is important to make sure your hot tub ph Levels are always balanced between 7.2 and 7.6 to avoid impacting your Lay-Z-Spa and your spa experience. Drain hot tub to the minimum mark and re-fill with fresh water to the maximum mark, this will help to dilute the excess chlorine. After testing the PH with your dip test strips you can use the following chemicals to increase or decrease the PH.

Chlorine levels are fluctuating, the pool has been left and gone stagnant or other chemical levels are not correct. Before using any chemicals for the pool, you need to understand what it needs. To do this, you need to test the waterwith test strips. It’s like tasting a dish before serving it to guests. The three most important parts of pool water chemistry are pH levels, alkalinity, and sanitizer levels: Always pre-dissolve chemicals in a clean, plastic container in a well-ventilated area. When pre-dissolving chemicals always add chemicals to water and not vice versa. Always add the chemicals to the water. ClearWater® is our chosen and recommended chemical provider. Developed with Lay-Z-Spa in mind, the range of ClearWater® hot tub chemicals includes everything needed to make sure your Lay-Z-Spa's water stays safe, clean and clear. Explore the table below which includes each product’s use and function. Chlorine is a sanitiser that controls and prevents bacteria growth and is essential for the hot tub water to be clean and safe to use. The recommended Free Chlorine* level in a hot tub is 3-5ppm (parts per million). The 5 Inch Chemical Floater slowly releases Clearwater Mini Multifunctional Tablets or Chlorine Tablets, making it the perfect accessory for busy spa users who want a hassle-free way of maintaining clear and healthy spa water. The dispenser has an adjustable dial which controls the release of the 20g tablets, ensuring that the sanitizer level of your spa water is consistently and efficiently maintained. Compatible with all spa models. Bestway® Clearwater™ 1 Litre Algaecide is a highly effective way to eliminate algae and prevent a pool from looking murky. Although algae doesn’t do direct harm to swimmers it looks deeply unpleasant and provides an ideal breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Getting rid of swimming pool algae, a microscopic plant that comes in many guises and adores the nutrients found in pool water, couldn’t be simpler. If algae forms on or below the water’s surface you simply pour the recommended dose of algae remover into the swimming pool. Ideally the algae killer should be applied where water inlets are situated so that it disperses evenly and effectively throughout the water. The amount of algae treatment used depends on the size of an above ground swimming pool and the severity of the situation. As with all chemical products, instructions and warnings should be carefully followed and heeded. Thankfully Clearwater™ 1 Litre Algaecide is clearly labelled with all of the necessary guidelines. The amount of pH increaser or decreaser you need to add to your hot tub depends on the volume of water and how low your readings are. Refer to the dosage information will be printed on the individual chemical bottles. Remove cover from pool to allow evaporation of the chemical (keep the pool filter running constantly).

The different colors of algae in your pool are signs that may be a reason to use an algaecide. 💚 Green algae Dip a ClearWater® Test Strip in the centre of your Lay‑Z‑Spa, remove and hold it still for 15 seconds.Yes, if you miscalculate the amount of algaecide, you can overdo it. This can cause foaming and, in some cases, even irritation to the eyes and skin. You need to know the gallon capacity of your pool to determine the correct dosage. Also, one of the side effects is that the algaecide stops working as it should, it becomes ineffective. Most algaecides are copper-based, which are chemical compounds with metal as the central atom. Such a chemical disrupts the normal cellular processes inside the algae, thus killing them and preventing them from developing. What are the signs to understand that you need an algaecide?
